Summer Youth Sports and Activities

Rookies Tee Ball
This beginner level program is designed for kids just beginning in the sport of baseball. In this program kids will learn the fundamentals of baseball; catching, throwing, fielding balls, hitting off tees orpitched balls, and base running. There will be no more than 6 kids per team to allow for more opportunities during drills and game play. Volunteer coaches are welcomed and encouraged. The first 10 minutes of the session will be a parent/kid catch and throw warm up, drills beginning at 5:10. Each participant will receive a voucher for a free ticket to a Dock Spiders game. T-shirts are included with registration.
The First Tee Golf Program
In partnership with Whispering Springs Golf Course & The First Tee
The First Tee coaches are trained to create positive relationships that inspire youth to discover their individual potential. Our programs help young people build confidence, develop respect and appreciate the value of giving back to our community all while learning the lifelong sport of golf. The First Tee emphasizes Nine Core Values: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgment.
Youth Cheer Clinic
We will focus on the fundamentals of all elements that make up a routine. Jumps, tumbling, flexibility, stunting, motions, dance and choreography will all be taught. A poms routine will be learned and performed at the end of the summer. Athletes should bring a water bottle, come in shorts and a t-shirt, with hair pulled back, no jewelry, nails cut short, and shoes appropriate for stunting and tumbling. The performance will be at halftime of the WLA Varsity football game on Friday August 25th. More information will be provided on performance once program starts. T-shirt is included with registration. **There WILL BE class August 22, NO CLASS August 1st & 8th**
Take your basketball game to the next level. In this 4- week session participants will focus on the three fundamentals of basketball: dribbling, passing, and shooting. These skills will be taught though stations and games.
Junior KIDS yOGA & Kids Yoga
Join Jessica Figlio, a registered Kids Yoga teacher, for a morning full of play and Yoga! Parent participates with child in this fun active class! Children will learn basic Yoga poses with a different theme each week along with breath exercises to help calm young minds. Ages 3-10
