Aquatics Coordinator - Full Time
We are seeking a motivated and outgoing individual to create a positive member and employment experience at the Y and provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for aquatics staff. Our Aquatics Coordinator develops, organizes, and implements high-quality, member-focused YMCA Aquatics programs as it relates to the YMCA and collaboration efforts with the Boys and Girls Club.
Positively models and reinforces YMCA’s core values, mission statement, and relationship-building skills in all interactions.
Recruits, hires, trains, develops, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Holds staff accountable for high-quality results using a formal process to measure progress.
Assists in developing, implementing, and managing operating plans to promote program growth. Manages, directs, and coordinates programs. Regularly analyzes program data and audits programs to ensure it meets quality performance standards and compliance. Fosters a climate of innovation.
Effectively creates and manages budgets. Maintains accurate records. Identifies significant business, financial, and operating risks and financial irregularities, and communicates information to management. Ensures program operates within the budget.
Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas, while adhering to deadlines. Ensures YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures are followed while making revisions for department policies, plans, and procedures.
Aquatics Lead - Opening Shift
We are seeking a motivated and outgoing morning person to help us create a positive member and employment experience at the Y. This individual must have the ability to think abstractly, problem solve, and communicate verbally to groups and individuals. Assists the Aquatic Coordinator in management, hands-on Aquatic work, and administrative duties to provide a safe environment where members and guests of all ages, cultures, and abilities can enjoy the pool area.
• Assists in training, developing, and directing personnel as needed. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Provides staff with feedback, coaching, guidance, and support.
• Assists in developing, implementing, and managing aquatic growth strategies for the Y. Ensures high-quality service and proper implementation of procedures. Reviews and updates procedures and communicates changes to staff.
• Promotes members connecting with one another and with the Y. Ensures building and individuals are secure during shift. Effectively manages emergencies and situations with employees, members and guests in accordance with policies. Handles and resolves member concerns and discipline.
Aquatics Lifeguard - Full Time
We are seeking a motivated and outgoing person to help us provide a safe environment where members and guests of all ages, cultures, and abilities can enjoy the pool area.
• Maintains active surveillance of the pool area
• Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures; completes related reports (i.e. accident/incident, chemical, bodily fluid, cleaning, etc.) as required
• Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area
Child Watch Attendent - Part Time
The Fond du Lac Family YMCA is seeking motivated and energetic individuals to provide quality care of children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old while their guardians are using our facility. Our attendants assist in planning, implementing and supervision of the daily activities while providing a quality experience to children and parents that focus on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Work Days: Hours vary. 5-15 hours a week with occasional weekend shifts.
Requirements: Must be able to easily move through all program areas and effectively communicate and actively interact with children and parents. Must be able to lift and carry (5-50 pounds). Must be able to perform physical functions necessary to program instruction, including but not limited to squatting, bending, and kneeling.
Gymnastics Coach - Part Time
The Fond du Lac Family YMCA is seeking a motivated and outgoing individual to create a positive member and employment experience at the Y. Our coaches inspire and enable gymnasts to achieve their greatest potential, developing skills and techniques to succeed in and outside the gym. This is accomplished through effective leadership skills and safe spotting and instruction of gymnastics skills during practices. Due to the instructional nature of the position the Coach must actively lead and demonstrate all the skills.
Wage Scale: $9.00 per hour, plus Free single Y membership
Work Days: Hours vary Monday – Saturday, plus travel locally and state-wide to attend gymnastics meets.
Requirements: One year experience in gymnastics or related teaching experience required, to include knowledge of gymnastics terms and skills and the ability to break skills down to a teachable level. Experience and knowledge of progressive and Level 1-Xcel gymnastics. Demonstrated experience in safely teaching and spotting complex skills or a combination of skills as performed in competition. Experience competing or coaching in a competitive environment is helpful. A thorough understanding of the USAG policies and procedures is preferred. Requires significant use of hands, arms, and body, as well as the ability to lift up to 50 pounds to set up and put away equipment and safely spot participants. Must be able to easily move through all program areas and effectively communicate and actively interact with customers. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills and the ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
Gymnastics Instructor - Part Time
The Fond du Lac Family YMCA is seeking motivated and outgoing individuals to create a positive member and employment experience at the Y. These individuals must demonstrate enthusiasm toward students and willingness to provide excellent customer service. Our instructors are responsible for implementing gymnastic lesson plans and curriculum and providing supervision to participants.
Wage Scale: $7.25 per hour, plus Free single Y membership
Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – 4-5pm, Wednesday 4-7pm, Saturday 9-11am
Requirements: One year gymnastics and /or related experience is required. Must possess knowledge of basic gymnastics terms and skills as well as the ability to break skills down to a teachable level. Positive attitude, strong leadership, creativity, and communication skills are essential. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical activities which require considerable use of arms and legs while moving entire body over a period of time. Instructors should be at least 14 years of age. Must be able to easily move through all program areas and effectively communicate and actively interact with customers. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills and the ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
Lifeguard - Part Time
Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of the aquatic facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies and enforcing the rules.
Wage Scale: $7.25 - $9.00 per hour
Hours per Week: Varies. Early morning and daytime hours are available.
Work Days: Varies.
Requirements: Current in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid certification and American Red Cross Lifeguard certification. American Red Cross WSI certification is strongly recommended.
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Instructor - Part Time
Help adult cancer survivors reclaim their health and well-being following a cancer diagnosis. We are looking for two passionate relationship builders and exercise experts to help implement LIVESTRONG at the YMCA small-group fitness classes for cancer survivors.
Wage Scale: $9.50 - $11.00 per hour
Hours per Week: Part-Time, 4 to 8 hours per week
Work Days: Varies
Requirements: CPR and AED certification. National Certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction preferred. One year experience teaching group wellness classes preferred.
Membership Coordinator - Part Time
The Fond du Lac Family YMCA is seeking a motivated and outgoing individual to create a positive member experience at the Y. This individual must be excited to create a memorable membership experience. The perfect candidate is enthusiastic and a mentor for our staff and members.
Holds staff accountable for high-quality results. Assists in developing strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals, while ensuring continuing staff development. Provides staff with feedback, coaching, guidance and support. Maintains the department schedule.
Provides impeccable service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Applies all policies dealing with membership sales and terminations. Reviews and recommends new and updated procedures. Ensures all materials related to membership are updated and available. Maintains a thorough knowledge of Y programs and events. Coordinates with the business office as necessary.
Aids with implementation of membership strategies that promote recruitment of new members and renewals for lapsed members. Completes welcome and exit interviews, provides tours, and gives informational assistance to members and guests. Handles and resolves member concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. Instructs and guides other Welcome Center staff with training and procedures.
Pound Fit Instructor - Part Time
Seeking energetic, outgoing, motivated and experienced Pound instructor to lead high energy Pound classes. Instructs group classes in a safe, enjoyable and positive environment that promotes wellness and relationship building among members.
Work Days/Schedule: Looking for early weekday mornings/evenings and/or weekend mornings with availability to substitute as well.
Requirements: Pound Certifications; CPR/AED Certified; recognized experience leading Pound Classes.
Water Aerobics Instructor - Part Time
The Fitness Instructor is responsible for planning class sessions, supervising class participants, helping to train new instructors, and providing the YMCA membership with a fun quality fitness class.
Wage Scale: $8.00 - $9.00 per hour
Hours per Week: 4 - 8 hours per week
Work Days: Varies
Requirements: Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. No certification required. Some experience required.
