Director of Mission Advancement - Full Time

The Director of Mission Advancement provides strategic leadership to secure resources and support for philanthropic endeavors to advance the YMCA’s mission. Promotes and positions the YMCA as a “charity of choice” for the investment of donations within our community.

Work Week:  Full Time 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides internal strategic consulting with expertise on fundraising. Develops appropriate fundraising policies and procedures for the association. Provides reports as needed and requested. Directs, tracks and coordinates association fundraising.  Vigorously builds and nurtures strategic relationships to enhance support for the Y.  Makes public appearances/accepts speaking engagements to share information about the Y with the community. Collaborates with the Marketing and Communication Department to develop communication plans to ensure members, participants, employees and the community understand the case for support. Develops systems and manages resources needed to carry out the fundraising plans. 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:   Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility as a community leader within Fond du Lac, with a passion for mission driven non-profit work.  Results-oriented leader with a high sense of urgency and strong economic and societal acumen. Proven leader in strategic planning, external engagement, and process management. Proven entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work in highly flexible, rapidly changing work environment. Proficiency in fundraising data collection, analysis and reporting tools. Must be business savvy, organized, able to handle several tasks simultaneously, and able to integrate multiple thinking processes to make decisions.

Female Custodian - Part Time

The Fond du Lac Family YMCA is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic female custodian for our facility.

Wage Scale:  $8.50-$9.50 per hour

Work Week:  8-15 hours a week, daytime hours & could include additional weekend or evening hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  The custodian will perform routine janitorial duties to ensure cleanliness of the facility and grounds, particularly cleaning and sanitizing the women’s locker rooms. Additional duties include mopping, dusting, and trash removal.  May complete duties related to window washing, meeting set up, pool cleaning, snow removal, grounds keeping, and other related responsibilities.

Gymnastics Coach - Part Time

The Fond du Lac Family YMCA is seeking a motivated and outgoing individual to create a positive member and employment experience at the Y. 

Wage Scale:  $9.00 per hour, plus Free single Y membership

Work Days:  Hours vary Monday – Saturday, plus travel locally and state-wide to attend gymnastics meets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Our coaches inspire and enable gymnasts to achieve their greatest potential, developing skills and techniques to succeed in and outside the gym. This is accomplished through effective leadership skills and safe spotting and instruction of gymnastics skills during practices. Due to the instructional nature of the position the Coach must actively lead and demonstrate all the skills.Requires significant use of hands, arms, and body, as well as the ability to lift up to 50 pounds to set up and put away equipment and safely spot participants.  Must be able to easily move through all program areas and effectively communicate and actively interact with customers.  Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills and the ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:  One year experience in gymnastics or related teaching experience required, to include knowledge of gymnastics terms and skills and the ability to break skills down to a teachable level.  Experience and knowledge of progressive and Level 1-Xcel gymnastics.  Demonstrated experience in safely teaching and spotting complex skills or a combination of skills as performed in competition.  Experience competing or coaching in a competitive environment is helpful.  A thorough understanding of the USAG policies and procedures is preferred.

The Fond du Lac Family YMCA is seeking motivated and outgoing individuals to create a positive member and employment experience at the Y.  These individuals must demonstrate enthusiasm toward students and willingness to provide excellent customer service.  Our instructors are responsible for implementing gymnastic lesson plans and curriculum and providing supervision to participants.

Wage Scale:  $7.25 per hour, plus Free single Y membership

Work Days:  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday – 4-5pm, Wednesday 4-7pm, Saturday 9-11am

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:  One year gymnastics and /or related experience is required. Must possess knowledge of basic gymnastics terms and skills as well as the ability to break skills down to a teachable level. Positive attitude, strong leadership, creativity, and communication skills are essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical activities which require considerable use of arms and legs while moving entire body over a period of time. Instructors should be at least 14 years of age. Must be able to easily move through all program areas and effectively communicate and actively interact with customers. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills and the ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.

Lifeguard - Full Time

We are seeking a motivated and outgoing person to help us provide a safe environment where members and guests of all ages, cultures, and abilities can enjoy the pool area.

 Maintains active surveillance of the pool area  
•    Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures; completes related reports (i.e. accident/incident, chemical, bodily fluid, cleaning, etc.) as required
•    Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area


Lifeguard - Part Time

Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of the aquatic facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies and enforcing the rules.

Wage Scale:  $7.25 - $9.00 per hour 

Hours per Week:  Varies.  Early morning and daytime hours are available.

Work Days:  Varies.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:  Current in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid certification and American Red Cross Lifeguard certification. American Red Cross WSI certification is strongly recommended.

Membership Specialist - Part Time

We are seeking a motivated and outgoing individual to create a positive member experience at the Y.  This individual must be excited to create a memorable membership experience.  This position assists with memberships including registration for programs; delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants; and responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs.

Wage Scale:  $8.00 - $9.00 per hour 

Hours per Week:  10 to 20 hours per week

Work Days:  Wednesday and Friday mornings plus some weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Provides impeccable service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.  Enters membership and program information.  Applies all policies dealing with membership sales and terminations.  Maintains a thorough knowledge of Y programs and events. Coordinates with the business office as necessary. Supports membership strategies that promote recruitment of new members and renewals for lapsed members.  Completes welcome and exit interviews, provides tours, and gives informational assistance to members and guests.  Handles and resolves member concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.

Sports Coordinator - Part Time

This position develops, organizes, and implements high-quality, member-focused YMCA sports programs as they relate to the YMCA and collaboration efforts with the Boys and Girls Club.

Wage Scale:  $11.00 - $13.00 per hour 

Hours per Week:  20 to 25 hours per week

Work Days:  A candidate must be flexible with schedule and available weekdays, evenings and weekends

KEY QUALIFICATIONS: Strong commitment and knowledge of sports, youth and program development required. Previous leadership/supervisory experience preferred. Experience creating and managing a fiscal budget is preferred. Must have a high level of communication skills including excellent verbal and written communication and active listening skills. Must have the ability to work independently and on multiple tasks. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.   Must have the ability to facilitate and lead physically challenging programs and activities including running, jumping, reaching, bending, and lifting as well as event set-up both in outdoor and indoor setting. Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Recruits, hires, trains, develops, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.  Holds staff accountable for high-quality results using a formal process to measure progress.  Reviews and evaluates staff performance, job descriptions, and wage schedules.  Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals, while ensuring continuing education (when applicable).  Provides staff with feedback, coaching, guidance and support.  Assists in developing, implementing, and managing operating plans to promote program growth.  Manages, directs, and coordinates programs. Regularly analyzes program data and audits programs to ensure they meet quality performance standards and compliance.  Develops and maintains working relationships with organizations and agencies related to assigned programs within the community.

The Fitness Instructor is responsible for planning class sessions, supervising class participants, helping to train new instructors, and providing the YMCA membership with a fun quality fitness class.
