Getting Started on Personal Training

Step One - Contact Ericka Wawrzyn, Healthy Living Director, to inquire about Personal Training, answer any questions you may have, and discuss your fitness goals.  Start by filling out the Personal Training Interest Form.

Step Two - After discussing your goals with Ericka, she will determine the personal trainer that matches your individual or small group needs and will schedule your initial assessment.  After the first assessment, you and your trainer will set up your personal training sessions.

Step Three - Purchase Personal Training at the Y Welcome Center desk.  Inform our Welcome Center staff of the name of the personal trainer you or your group will be working with.  Bring receipt with you to your first personal training session.

INDIVIDUAL TRAINING

Our certified personal trainers will coach, motivate and inspire you to reach your goals and achieve the results you have always wanted. If you want to reach your wellness goals, train for an event or achieve optimal health, you can accomplish your goals by working one-on-one with a Personal Trainer. At the Y, you will be part of a welcoming and nurturing environment where together we will achieve the results you have always wanted.


PRIVATE GROUP TRAINING WITH PERSONAL TRAINERS

Get in shape, but don't do it alone!

Small group training combines the benefits of one-on-one personal training and group exercise. We create a customized workout program with expert coaching, with the added group support.  Not only do you share the accountability, you also share the cost, saving you money. 

Whether you are interested in general conditioning, building strength, reducing fat or improving athletic performance, the enthusiasm and encouragement in a group setting can provide the additional motivation you need to reach your fitness goals.


Personal Training - Private Session Policies

Cancellations

All private personal training session cancellations must be received by your Personal Trainer and confirmed at least 12 hours before your training session to avoid being charged for your session.  You will be provided the trainer’s contact information and the Personal Training Coordinator’s contact information to use if you need to cancel a session.  

Members who do not cancel within a 12 hour notice will be charged for the cancelled session. If for any reason you are unable to finish an entire session, you will be charged the full session fee.

The Fond du Lac Family YMCA understands that emergencies happen. We provide our members with one free short-notice cancellation. You will not be charged for your first cancellation that occurs with less than a 12-hour notice.  No-shows are not eligible for the free cancellation and will be charged the full amount of the missed session.

Late Arrivals

You are expected to arrive on time for your training sessions and be respectful of the trainer’s time, as they may have another session scheduled after your session. 

We encourage you to arrive 10 minutes prior to your session to warm up and be ready to make the most of your time with your trainer.

If you arrive late for your appointment, your session will begin at the time of your arrival and end at the originally scheduled time.  If you arrive 5 minutes late, you will lose 5 minutes of that session.  This will be done at the trainer's discretion.


Small Group Training Classes with Personal Trainers 

You can join Small Group Training Classes with Personal Trainers, held in Studio 3 in the lower level. These classes have a fee and are DROP-IN.
