The Volunteer of the Year Award is awarded to someone who has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the Y throughout the year, but in particular when the Y needs them the most.

Chris Badtke - 2019

In the spring of 2019 when the YMCA experienced tremendous flooding, Y Board Member, Chris Badtke, C.D. Smith, pledged his support in helping to overcome the damage. From the beginning, Chris served as a leader to get the job done, spending countless hours to implement a smooth process, enabling the Y to get back up and running within days of the flood.
