Internship Opportunities:

Aquatics Intern – Assists the Aquatics department with lifeguards, swim lessons, water fitness classes, Boys and Girls Club swim lesson collaborations, community trainings, and aquatic center administration duties.  Basic Life Support or Professional Rescuer CPR/AED, first aid and current Red Cross Lifeguard or equivalent certification is necessary. 


Diversity and Inclusion Intern – Assists the Human Resources Department and the Diversity and Inclusion committee in meeting its strategic goals.  This position requires bi-lingual translation abilities.  This is an on-site and off-site work experience. 


Fitness Internship - The Fitness Intern will be responsible for assisting with the daily administrative tasks within our Wellness Center, fitness, and personal training programs along with teaching exercise fundamentals to various age populations.  The intern will also be responsible for program marketing of current programs along with new programs.


Human Resources Intern – Assists with the Human Resources Department to gain experience working for a non-profit organization and learning the day to day duties within an HR department that also oversees payroll and finance. 


Marketing Intern – Assists our Marketing Department in communicating important events and information to our staff, members, and community. 

This internship has flexible working hours, potential on-site and off-site work experience, and potentially working some weekend events.

Marketing Internship Description.  


School Age Program Intern – This is a summer internship that assists in the administration of the Y’s before Boys and Girls Club summer programming, Preschool Enrichment classes, and Boys and Girls Club collaborations.  Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards is necessary. 


Worksite Wellness Internship

The Worksite Wellness Intern will be responsible for assisting with daily tasks within the Worksite Wellness programs, along with developing and implementing workplace wellness programming, tailoring health education communication to specific audiences and facilitating discussions around wellness best practices.  The intern will also be responsible for program marketing of current programs along with new programs.


Youth in Government Intern – Assists the Member Engagement Director in organizing our 6th -12th grade YIG program.  We are looking for a motivated individual who is outgoing, well-spoken and takes initiative.  School, work or volunteer experience in politics or civic engagement is necessary.  Experience developing or implementing curriculum is recommended, but not necessary.  Must be available 1-2 nights per week September – March, as well as available March 1-3, 2019 for our Model Government trip to the State Capitol. 


Youth Sports Internship – Assists the Youth Sports Director with programming including Boys and Girls Club collaborations and special events.  Background in recreation and coaching experience preferred.  Ability and current license to drive, with record that meets YMCA standards, is necessary.
