FAMILY BICYCLE SAFETY 101
July 20, 27 & August 3, 2016
3-PART SERIES | 5:30 - 6:30 PM - TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR OWN BICYCLE SAFETY!
In Partnership with the Fond du Lac Loop.
July 20 - Go over state laws governing bicycle rules and rights. Learn about basic safety equipment.
July 27 - Go over basic bicycle equipment checklist – brakes, tire pressure, seat adjustment, alignment, chain lube, etc. Install new bike bell. Practice ride.
August 3 – Learn safe riding techniques. Negotiate intersections with emphasis on gaining control of situations with less fear and greater skill. Practice on the Fond du Lac Loop. Partial Loop exploration on the Brook Street trail to practice new skills.
Kids who register and participate in the series will earn a bike bell and bike helmet, donated by the Fond du Lac Loop. Pre-registration is required at the Y. For ages 5 & up. Limit 20 participants. Young children should be accompanied by an adult.
Series is FREE for Y members | $10 per family for community participants.
