Fond du Lac Family YMCA invites you to join free challenge to reenergize spirit, mind and body
Sick and tired of feeling sick and tired in these COVID-19 times? The Fond du Lac Family YMCA invites everyone in the community to participate in a free six-week STRONG Challenge beginning November 9th through December 20th, designed to help transform spirit, mind and body. “Now, more than ever before we need to recharge and refocus,” said JJ Raflik, Executive Director/CEO, Fond du Lac Family YMCA. “The COVID-19 pandemic has worn us down. It has isolated us in so many ways. This challenge provides everyone an opportunity to get active and healthier together, as well as offer support and encouragement along the way.”
The STRONG Challenge is not only about physical activity. Particpants are encouraged to choose additional weekly activities to add to their fitness goals, for a healthier spirit and mind. These activities can be done at the Y, at home, in the community, or virtually, and have a theme each week. Activity suggestions will be provided, or participants can come up with their own ideas to play, connect with others, rest, serve, and then finally, celebrate their successes.
Register online for the Strong Challenge beginning Monday, October 26th at fdlymca.org or in person at the Y. Families are encouraged to sign up to join the challenge together. Participants will receive three emails each week filled with goal setting, motivation, challenges, and more. A Facebook group for participants will provide a way to share progress, photos, motivation and successes with others in the challenge.
Everyone is encouraged to establish your own personal goals and customize your challenge using the resources provided. “It is the perfect time to encourage your family and friends to be active, set personal goals, and have some fun along the way,” said Raflik.
