Fond du Lac Family YMCA offers free nutrition seminar on good nutrition for pregnancy

The Fond du Lac Family YMCA aims to improve the communities’ health and well-being by providing programs and activities that promote wellness, reduce risk for disease and help others reclaim their health. These programs and everything else the Y does are in service of making us—our Y and our communities—better. The result is a community that values health and supports healthy choices.

Because we know that healthy lifestyles are achieved through nurturing mind, body and spirit, well-being and fitness at the Y goes beyond just working out. In addition to fitness facilities, we provide educational programs to promote healthier decisions, and offer a variety of programs that support physical, intellectual and spiritual strength.

Your body goes through numerous physical and hormonal changes during pregnancy. The way you nourish your body during this time will affect your health and your baby’s. You must eat a healthful, balanced diet to help ensure you stay healthy throughout your pregnancy. The food you eat is your baby’s main source of nourishment, so it’s critical to consume foods that are rich in nutrients. Proper nutrition can help promote your baby’s growth and development.  The August Nutrition Workshop, “Good Nutrition for Pregnancy,” will take place on August 20th at 5:30 pm and August 21st at 11:15 am, in the Y Board Room, presented by Agnesian HealthCare registered dietitian, Janeah Schwarz. Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

Join us for free monthly nutrition workshops, focused on a health topic, offered the 3rd week of each month.  Sessions take place on Mondays from 5:30-6:15 pm and on Tuesdays from 11:15 am-12:00 pm.  The workshops, in partnership with FreshFit Meals, are free and open to both Y members and the community.
