Fond du Lac Family YMCA helps support community needs during the holiday season

There’s no better way to celebrate the spirit of the season than by giving to others. Many of us look for a way to give the holidays more meaning.  At the Y, we provide many great opportunities to help your neighbors and share with others who need help at this time of year.

Y Holiday Giving Tree

The Y holiday giving tree, located in the lobby of the facility, is dedicated to helping local children and families in our community. By taking an ornament from our tree, your generosity and spirit of giving will make for a brighter holiday for those in need.   Items wished for are listed on each ornament.  Choose an ornament from the tree and bring your ornament to the Welcome Center desk to sign out the “wish” item you chose.  Keep your ornament tag then bring in your wrapped item listed on the ornament, along with the ornament tag taped to your gift,  to the Welcome Center desk.

Wrapped gifts will be collected through Friday, December 15th.  Last year the Y’s Giving Tree was able to make an impact on 30 individuals during the holidays.

Warm Up To Warm Up

The Salvation Army believes in meeting the basic needs of individuals and families, young and old. These basic needs include food, clothing, shelter and household needs.  A current need the Salvation Army has identified is for long underwear, especially for men.

The Y would like to help gather donations to help fill this need.Through our “Warm Up To Warm Up” campaign, the Y will be accepting donations of long underwear from our members and the community.  We will also accept cash donations that will go towards purchasing long underwear.Donations will be accepted December 1-15, 2017.

Cash donations can be donated by choosing the appropriate ornament from our Giving Tree, then bringing the cash donation to the Welcome Center.
