Registration for Fond du Lac Family YMCA Fall Youth Sports


The Fond du Lac Family YMCA is offering a variety fall youth sports and programming for children preschool age through grade school.  YMCA youth sports places emphasis on teamwork, family involvement and fair play.  Y members receive discounted program fees and priority registration.  Registration begins Tuesday, August 9th for Y members and Tuesday, August 16th for community participants.  Registration for Fall Session I programs ends Wednesday, September 7th.  Fall Session I programs begin Saturday, September 10, 2016.  Registration for all programs is in person at the Y or online at fdlymca.org.  An active account and email address is required for online registration.

Flag Football

The YMCA Flag Football program uses volunteer coaches to develop skills through modified, age-appropriate game activities. Teams will be formed based on school and order of sign-up. Requests may be honored on a space available basis. Flag football roster sizes will be capped at (10-12) players per team to encourage more playing time for each child.  Registration deadline is September 3.

Co-ed Flag Football (Kindergarten and Grade 1) These programs uses volunteer coaches to develop skills through modified, age-appropriate games. Teams will practice for the first three weeks and play games for the final four weeks.

Co-ed Flag Football (Grade 2) This 6-on-6 league uses real game play to teach football rules, strategies and skills. This program uses volunteer coaches to develop skills through modified, age-appropriate games. Teams will practice for the first two weeks and play games for the final four weeks.

Boys Flag Football (Grade 3 and Grade 4) These 6-on-6 leagues use real game play to teach football rules, strategies and skills. Teams will practice one night each week for six weeks and play actual games the last five Saturdays of the session. There will be an additional game on the final Thursday night.

Girls Flag Football (Grade 3-5) Are you a female that would like to play football? Then try out our Girls Flag Football! Up to six teams will be formed. Teams will practice for the first two weeks and will play games the final four weeks. Volunteer coaches will be needed to direct the team practices and games.

Indoor Monday Night Flag Football Can’t get enough football? Then try our Monday Night Flag Football League! This league will play 4-on-4 football games with rosters consisting of no more than eight (8) players. Volunteer coaches will be needed to help direct team play, and games will be led by our staff/referees. Sign up early, as limited spots are available.

Youth Soccer (U6 & U8 Leagues, ages 5-8) Each of our soccer programs use volunteer coaches to develop skills through modified, age-appropriate games. Teams will practice for the first two weeks and play games for the final four weeks.

Rookies 4K Basketball This basic and introductory level class is designed to give kids an overview of the sport of basketball. Smaller basketballs and shorter hoops will help us teach the kids proper techniques and skills to help maximize their understanding of the sport.

Rookies Beginners Basketball (5K-Grade 1) This beginner level class is designed for kids who are just beginning in the sport of basketball. Kids will be taught the fundamentals of the sport. Dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense will be heavily emphasized through drills and controlled game play.

Rookies Intermediate Basketball (Grade 1-2) Kids in this advanced level class will build upon the basic skills that were learned in the Beginner Class as well as other basketball skills such as pivoting, rebounding, etc. Kids will also play controlled games beginning in week 4. This level is for 2nd graders, or a 1st grader that has completed one or two sessions of the Beginner class.

Rookies Beginners Volleyball This beginner level class is designed for kids who are just beginning in the sport of volleyball. Kids will be taught the fundamentals of the sport. Bumping, setting, and positioning will be heavily emphasized through drills and controlled game play.

Rookies Intermediate Volleyball This intermediate level class is designed for kids who are looking to advance their skills in the sport of volleyball. This level is for 5th graders, as well as 3rd or 4th graders who have completed the Beginner level class. More advanced fundamentals of the sport will be taught. Bumping, setting, and positioning will be heavily emphasized through drills and controlled game play.
