Preschool

  • Parent/Child Lessons  (6 months-30 months)
    • In these lessons, the child explores a new environment while the parent learns to teach their child to be safer in and around the water.
  • Turtles  (2 1/2-5 years)
    • At this level, the child adjusts to lessons without the parent.  Basic aquatic skills and safety are emphasized. This class is a bridge between parent/child and preschool lessons, fearful swimmer or first swim class.
  • Pike  (3-5 years)
    • No previous lessons or experience needed for this level.  Children will be introduced to the front and back paddle, flutter kick, bubbles, and floats.
  • Eel  (3-5 years)
    • At this level, the child must be able to put their face in the water, and float and paddle with assistance.  They will then learn to float without assistance.Glides and arm strokes will also be taught.
  • Ray  (3-5 years)
    • For entrance to this level, children must be able to swim pool width-length (about 10 yards) without assistance.  In these lessons, flutter kicking, diving, personal safety, swimming on front, back and side without float belt will be emphasized.

Youth 

(All Youth swim lessons are for 6 years and up.)

  • Polliwog 
    • For this class, there is little or no experience or skill needed.  Students will learn correct flutter kicking, floats, arm stroke, breathing and will be able to paddle 10 yards on front, back, and side.
  • Guppy
    • To enter this level, students must be able to float comfortably and demonstrate basic arm stroke.  They will learn basic front and back crawl, sidestroke, breastroke, elementary backstroke, and also learn to swim 25 yards.
  • Minnow
    • Here, students must be able to swim 25 yards using front/back crawls and elementarty backstroke.  They will then learn the front crawl, sidestroke, and breastroke, all with proper breathing techniques.
  • Shark
    • For this class, students must have successfully completed Minnow.  Swimmers will work to strengthen all strokes and increase endurance to 100 yards of continuous swimming for each each stroke.  They will learn lifesaving skills, starts and flip turns for competitive swimming.
  • Homeschool Swim
    • Homeschool swimming lessons are available for ages 5 and up.
  • Guard Start
    • This program is designed for children, ages 11-14, who have completed the Minnow lessons.  Guard Start prepares your child for becoming a lifeguard when he/she turns 15 and is ready to take the American Red Cross Lifeguard training program.
  • CPR & AED
    • CPR & AED re-certifications are available by appointment.

Adults

  • Adult Swim Lessons
    • Adult swim lessons are available for those 15 and up.  Class length is 45 minutes.
  • Water Aerobics
    • These classes develop strength, increase muscle tone and flexibility and gives you a great aerobic workout.
  • Aqua Abs & Stretch
    • These classes offer a great abdominal workout in the water.  It allows you to do stretches you could never do on land.
  • Aqua Sports Conditioning
    • Revitalize your workouts with the latest combinations of deep and shallow water/low-and no impact workouts.
  • Adult Lap Swim
    • Check the pool schedule for times available for lap swim.  You can pick up a pool schedule at the front desk, or download it here.

Special Classes for Active Older Adults

    • Active Older Adult water classes are designed to improve cardiovascular fitness as well as muscular strength and endurance while increaseing range of motion and flexibility. These are self-paced conditioning classes suitable for all fitness levels with the added benefit of being low impact and gentle on the joints.
