Color Burst 5K
What is the Color Burst?
The Color Burst 5K is a healthy, happy, fun run for the entire family! It is a unique experience focused less on speed and more on crazy fun with family and friends. No matter what your age or athletic ability, the 3.1 miles of the Color Burst course is sure to be the most memorable and colorful run of your life! Save the date and watch for more details to come!
How does it work?
Everyone begins the Color Burst wearing a white shirt and finishes looking like a tie dyed vat of colored goodness! After the finish, participants are encouraged to stick around for the post-race celebration festivities that will make your colorpowdered head spin.
The course will loop through and around Lakeside Park, with the start and finish near Oven Island. Parking is available in the lot off of Harbor View Drive, near the baseball diamonds.

Color Burst Zones
There are four Color Burst Zones spread throughout the course, each associated with a designated color. As the runners reach the Color Burst Zones, they are blitzed by our volunteers with color. While all products are 100 percent natural and safe, we recommend wearing goggles to avoid getting powder in your eyes. We also suggest wearing a bandana over your mouth to keep from inhaling too much color. (It is edible, but we find that it is surprisingly high in calories and leaves a chalky aftertaste). Of course, we save the best for last, ending the race with a color extravaganza of epic proportions!
